The closed-form analytical expressions for the displacements and strains due to centre of dilatation located in a homogeneous, isotropic poroelastic halfspace are obtained. The variation of the radial displacement and strains with epicentral distance for the various materials Ruhr Sandstone, Tennessee Marble, Charcoal Granite, Berea Sandstone, Westerly Granite are discussed.
