A Study on Circulant Matrices and its Application in Solving Polynomial Equations and Data Smoothing

Dhashna T. Pillai, Briji J. Chathely
Abstract

This article presents a short study on circulant matrices and some of its properties. We discuss the eigenvalues, eigenvectors and diagonalization of circulant matrices in this paper. We also discuss the application of circulant matrices in solving polynomial equations and data smoothing.

Keywords
Circulant, permutation, eigenvalues, fourier, diagonalization, smoothing.
