Five dimensional LRS Bianchi type-V string cosmological models in scalar-tensor theory of gravitation proposed by Brans-Dicke (Phys. Rev. 124:925, 1961) containing cosmic string is investigated. Berman’s law, 𝑇 = −(𝜌 + 𝜆) = 0, proportionality of scalar expansion and shear scalar are the conditions, used in order to find solutions of the model. Some physical and geometrical properties of the obtained model are also discussed.
